In addition, Subsea Technology is responsible for the development of control systems technology to enable remote operations of these systems as well as data (telemetry and acquired) flow management for the full spectrum of applications, including inspection, mapping, geophysical, geotechnical, oceanography, scientific research and defense.

The Subsea Design Engineer will be flexible in their ability to support a broad range of engineering tasks. This will include supporting/leading computational fluid dynamic (CFD) modelling, Orcaflex studies, concept modeling of prototypes using 2D and 3D CAD software, vehicle body design, hydraulic system design and sensor integration. The candidate should be familiar with the design principles required to reduce noise and interference on sensitive electronics, sonars, and navigation instruments. Knowledge of electrical system design and integration is desirable but not essential.

This position requires a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience, the candidate will have worked in a similar design engineering role, with ROV/AUV/Tooling design experience. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished practical engineer who has a good understanding of both electrical and hydraulic actuation along with hydrodynamic design experience.

The right candidate will need to be an enthusiastic team player, already committed to behaving in an ethical manner, championing fairness, equality and always demonstrating sincere safety leadership; you will be attracted by an organisation which recognises people as being integral to our progressive systems development. You will have unlimited opportunity to contribute energy and ideas in a dynamic and technically challenging environment.
