Ocean Infinity is seeking a Senior Surveyor who is the lead responsible for online and ensures that all online survey equipment and software are operational, that the data acquisition is performed correctly and in a professional way. The senior surveyor role also means having a leading role in the online team onboard our vessels. As a Senior surveyor you will report to the Offshore Manager onboard the vessel and to your line manager at the onshore office (Survey Manager). We are looking for a Senior Surveyor with background in this position and good knowledge of software and sensors used in this field. Working on a vessel in a tight team also implies good teamwork, troubleshooting qualities, not being afraid to ask questions and use the expertise we have in our fleet to solve problems fast.  We use standard main software on our vessels.

What will you do:

  • Update and keep current the HSE standards in our organisation;
  • Act as Safety Delegate on vessels;
  • Optimise and improve survey setups and methods;
  • Perform mobilisations, calibrations, and systems check prior to the survey;
  • Handle and be responsible of co-ordinates in the navigation system.
  • Troubleshooting of survey equipment and software;
  • Ensure the online logs and other documentation are properly utilised and modified as required;
  • Monitor and control the survey equipment during the survey and ensure a safe and correct handling of the survey equipment;
  • Perform maintenance of bathymetrical, geophysical, and geotechnical equipment;
  • Assure data quality during the survey;
  • Communicate closely with offline coordinator and OM regarding data quality in order to ensure good quality data collection;
  • Responsible for the online work and documentation of the survey performed;
  • Ability to produce project documentation when needed, like Task plans, Mobilisation and calibration reports, Field-MEMOS, Field-Reports etc;
  • Manage and educate Surveyors Grade 1 and 2;
  • Plan, drive and host on board training courses for data acquisition software or survey related subjects.



Who you are:

  • Experience as a Senior surveyor;
  • CATB/A surveyor or similar education;
  • Solid experience in towed geophysical survey and/or ROV survey;
  • Strong understanding of quality management such as standards, regulations and applicable policies and procedures;
  • Good practical experience with office tools: MS Office, Google Drive, Teams, e-mail, among others;
  • Interested in others and strives for the best for the team;
  • Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Driven, proactive and able to work autonomously with little supervision towards the company’s purpose; 
  • Critical thinking and ability to show initiative;
  • Open and receptive to new and different ideas;
  • Holder of a valid Offshore survival course certificate;
  • Holder of a valid Offshore medical certificate.


Desirable: 

  • Experience with mid-size vessels performing towed geophysical survey and larger DP 2 vessels performing ROV survey.
