Cloud (Azure) Platform Engineer -

Ocean Infinity is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer. This is a new role in the organization reporting into the Director, Digital Engineering & Operations. The main function of the Azure DevOps Engineer is designing, building, testing, and maintaining cloud applications and services on Microsoft Azure.

As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be proactively managing Azure environments hosting our cloud based applications. You will be working closely with both the development team and the data team to provide Azure-based solutions in a rapidly growing business.

Reports to: Director of Digital Engineering & Operations


The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain, monitor and manage Azure app services hosting a suite of applications with our Azure cloud;
  • Work with the data and development teams to create safe and secure APIs using Azure API Management. These will be both internal API’s forming an abstraction layer or product linked client based;
  • Develop secure and scalable serverless applications using appropriate Azure services;
  • Develop both event-based and message-based solutions using the appropriate Azure connectors.


Person Specification:

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;



  • 2 to 5 years of experience developing and implementing Azure solutions;
  • Excellent understanding of Azure serverless technologies and how they best connect together;
  • Excellent understanding of Azure messaging services and when best to deploy each type;
  • Excellent understanding of API management and how to create a secure suite of APIs for both internal and external applications;
  • Experience of Dev, Test and Production Infrastructure Deployment via Azure Pipelines.



  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) preferable;
  • Understanding of Managed Identity and Azure Key Vault and their use in protecting applications.

  • Successfully completes required training as identified by OIMS and the management team
  • Participates in the OIMS by reporting events, attending meetings and workshops, reporting problems, and recommending improvements, and other related activities.
  • Informs an Ocean Infinity Supervisor, Team Lead, or Manager of any unidentified risks, hazards, or system deficiencies in the workplace.
  • Supports Ocean Infinity’s environmental and social goals.
