Pioneering research programme with leading academics.
Ocean Infinity was proud to work in partnership with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), on a long term programme of marine environmental scientific research. The programme involved gathering biological samples which contributed to providing a greater understanding of deep sea ecosystems and the oceans, which in turn led to great conservation efforts, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
With a strong focus on sustainability and the environment, Ocean Infinity has specific equipment for deep-sea sampling onboard its vessels and its Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) operators were trained by scientists from NTNU to ensure that data was gathered and stored in the best possible way.
The programme with NTNU is a further example of Ocean Infinity’s pioneering spirit, across all aspects of its work. It demonstrates Ocean Infinity’s commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and more broadly, the environment.
Gathering information in a sustainable technologically driven way can play a major role in deepening our understanding of, and connection with, our oceans. The data gathered can be used to achieve change on a national and international level, by informing the academic and maritime industry.
The partnership is an exciting development for Ocean Infinity, as we look to expand our knowledge of the ocean and further scientific research – we are proud to playing a part in providing beneficial, educational insights which can help to answer many questions surrounding deep sea ecosystems.
